Yellowjacket Boats Were Made In Denison, TX From 1949 To 1959 ..,

The factory was located near the dam of Lake Texoma. Roy Rogers was a part owner of the Co and was involved in the promotion of the boats. They were constructed of hot molded plywood hulls under pressure with five 1/8 inch thick plywood veneers layered together with phenolic resin and heated to form a strong lightweight hull. The hulls were manufactured in Canada and shipped to Denison where the boats were finished out. They put the transom and mahogany deck on. Installed the dash, windshield, controls, seats and outboard or inboard motors. Installed the lights and trim and put them on trailers. Some of that may have been done at the dealers. They were fine runabouts and ski boats. Were a lot of them on Lake Texoma back in the day. Dudley was born the same year the Yellow Jacket Boat Company died. Dudley was born a generation too late. Missed out on some nice wooden boats. By the time Dudley came along, Fiberglass boats were all the rage.
