had a great morning. He lives in a beautiful log home on top of a mountain in Pennsylvania. Today was the opening day of deer season. Rich was hunting near the house about 7:30 this morning when this nice 8 point buck walked out. Rich shot him from 30 yards away with his Remington Model 700 in .270 caliber. Great looking buck!

Frank And Jeff Went Hunting This Morning ...
They did not see anything. Looks like the Cover Crops they planted in the Power Line Right Of Ways are starting to come up! They checked the Deer Cams and did not see much. Still a lot of acorns on the ground limiting movement. Hopefully by the time the Foid Plots come all the way in the acorns will be gone and the deer and hogs will show back up.

Frank Got A Pic Of A Doe At His Deer Feeder ...
He could have shot her but he and Jeff have decided not to shoot any does this year. The State of Texas has extended the number of days that hunters can take Anterless Deer which will result in a larger number of does being removed from the herd. Dudley has seen the doe numbers reduced in the past to the point that there were not enough deer to hunt. The Parks and Wildlife Department keeps repeating the same mistakes every twenty five years or so. They will open up the hunting to the point the deer population is decimated then try to make excuses for the lack of deer and refuse to accept the blame for causing the problem in the first place by their misguided decisions.
