Frank's Buddy Chase Recently Moved To Colorado ...

He sent Frank a pic yesterday of the Poudre River. Chase was camping out and doing some fly fishing. Frank and Jeff are going to fly up later this Summer and go fly fishing for trout. Should be an adventure!

These are some pics of Dudleys Dad Fly Fishing up in Colorado right after he was discharged from the Air Force at the end of WWII.

Dudleys Dad and his buddy John Witherspoon were both ready for some R&R after serving in the Military. Dudley bets the ride from Fort Worth to Colorado and back again was hot and rough in that Willys Jeep but they no doubt had a lot of fun!

Photos Of Cecil Faris At His Pure Oil Filling Station In Tomball TX In 1945 ...

Dudleys Grandfather Frank E Poulsen got his first job as a Geologist working for Pure Oil out of Houston, TX after he completed his graduate work in Geology at Stanford University. Dudley thinks this was about 1921. Pure sent Dudleys Grandfather to Central America. He explored for Oil in several Central American Countries. He had a few close calls down there and survived one ship wreck. He worked down there for a few years then went back to Texas and never left except to explore for oil out West during WWII. He also went up north to go Pheasant hunting on several trips. He was an avid Upland Bird Hunter and raised and trained his own Bird Dogs for a number of years. Dudleys older sister remembers the bird dogs but sadly he no longer had them by the time Dudley came along and was old enough to remember.  Dudley thinks his  Grandfather worked for Gypsy Oil Co, Sinclair, Phillips 66 and Gulf at different times. He also did consulting work for a few years after he retired.

Dudley Bought A NOS My Buddy Tackle Master ...

To add to his collection. Probably made in the 70's not long before the Falls City Company quit producing their line of quality metal tackle boxes and minnow buckets. This box looks like they went to the parts bin and grabbed a bunch of mis matched parts. The colors are varied. The box itself is silver colored and may be of aluminum construction. The metal trays are bright yellow and green. The dividers are bright white. The hardware is brass and the box is topped off with a rather drab tan colored handle. It may be the worlds ugliest brand new 40 to 50 year old tackle box but Dudley likes it!

Union Model 4413 Metal Tackle Box ...

Just like Dudleys first tackle box he got over 50 years ago! Made many trips with a Zebco 202 and a cheap Fiberglass rod to the Kid Fishing Hole!

Legend Of The Muy Grande By Leonel Garza Of The Muy Grande Village ...

Home of the first Texas Big Buck/Deer Contest. It is one of Dudleys favorite Deer Hunting DVD's. When it first came out, Dudley bought it on VHS. Also had the book by the same name. Dudley bought the book from Leonel Garza at a TTHA show and got it inscribed. In the video, Leonel killed a high basket racked 10 point he had named High Hat Harry. Dudley finally went to South TX about 30 years later and killed s high basket racked 8 point that Dudley refers to by the same name as the bucks are similar in appearance.

Louis Liggett And The 1936 Million Dollar Streamlined Convention Train ...

                       Louis Liggett

Went through 47 of the lower 48 states and Canada. If you ask Dudley, that Streamliner Steam Locomotive and Tender and consist of Streamliner Passenger Cars beats the hell out of Elton John's Million Dollar Piano!
