Photos Of Jimmie Rodgers, The Father Of Country Music ...

with his brand new Ford Model A he bought from the Cone Car Company in Kerrville, Tx. Also found a picture of his house in Kerrville. He moved there after he got TB as the local climate was thought to be therapeutic. He was known as the "Singing Brakeman" from his Railroad days. He was very popular in the 1920's and during the Great Depression. He died at a young age in 1933 after recording his last four songs. He wrote and sang T For Texas and many other great songs. Dudleys favorite is Yodel #8 Mule Skinner Blues. He could Yodel with the best of them. He was one of the first 3 singers inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
