Frank Is Hunting In East Texas ...

He saw a doe this evening but the

Antlerless Season does not open until tomorrow. Hopefully a doe will come out then. Frank took a shot at a running Coyote this evening and missed. At least he sent him a message to leave our deer alone. Frank put four racks of Pork Ribs on the Smoker tonight to go with the Greenberg Smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving.

Frank Got Invited To Go To The ABHA Midwest Championship Field Trials This Weekend ...

on a private Ranch out in West Texas. He will have a good time and will get to see some high dollar bird dogs working. They are going to release 500 pen raised Bobwhite Quail prior to the event. The best part is after the event is over, and all of the bird dogs and their owners have left, Frank and the Wing Bandits are going to load their shotguns and go Quail hunting! Frank is really excited as he has never had the opportunity to go after Quail. He is going to take his Great Grandfathers Sweet Sixteen and should have a great time. Dudley has an idea "Gran" will be looking down and will approve. Long before Dudley was born, he used to raise and train his own bird dogs and go upland bird hunting when he got the chance.

Bought An Old Cardboard Sign The Other Day ...

for Red Man Chewing Tobacco. Going to get it framed and hang up over one of my doors. This sign has great graphics and reminds me of my late father in law, Sparky. He favored Red Man for years though he would also chew Beechnut at times.

Frank And Jeff Went Hunting Last Weekend ...

and Jeff had an 8 point buck walk out of the woods and start feeding in his oat patch. To be legal a buck has to have at least a 13" inside spread. Jeff said the buck looked to be right at 13 inches wide but he decided to let the deer walk. I think he probably made the right call.

Went To See Thor-The Dark World ...

last night with my HS buddy Greg Manning. We went to eat first at The Flying Fish and then we went to Southlake to the picture show. The Theatre had the new Dolby Atmos sound system which sounded great. Got to ride in Gregs new Fiat 500C. Had a good time, it was nice to get out and spend some time with an old friend.

Got A NO HUNTING Sign And Put It ...

up above the fireplace. It reminds me of the many hunting and fishing trips with my father in law to my Uncles Ranch on the Brazos River in Palo Pinto County. He had red and white no hunting signs on the entrance gates and on the fence posts every forty yards are so. It was 800 + acres of Paradise. Whitetail Deer, Rio Grande Turkeys, Dove, Quail, Ducks. There were predators such as Coyotes, Bobcats and Mountain Lions. Had some memorable hunting and fishing trips out there!
