Dudleys Diary Recently Won The Prestigious 10 Point Award ...

for an Outstanding Outdoor Blog from my friend Rex over at the Christmas Place Plantation Hunting Club on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. I am honored to receive this award. Dudley loves the outdoors with all of his heart and soul and his best memories and times were spent deer hunting with his father in law back in the Pineywoods of East Texas. We hunted together every season for about fifteen years running. We bagged a lot of deer during that time. Dudley had a high paying corporate job for many years until his health started to deteriorate. Dudley was forced to leave his beloved East Texas for home where the job prospects were better. Dudley started a second career but his health continued to decline. Dudley had a wife and two small children to support so Dudley kept fighting every day to hang on. Finally it became too hard and when Dudley realized he could not even work for one full day he knew it was time to try to find out what in the heck was wrong. Dudley filed for short term disability and went to his doctor asked for his help in trying to get a diagnosis. After a referral to a neurologist Dudley finally found out at 41 years of age that he was suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. I guess Dudley was too busy going to school, graduating from college, getting married and having kids and working and hunting and fishing every chance he got to notice anything was wrong. Dudley is going to keep fighting and try to go hunting every now and then as long as he still can. For Dudley spending time in God's great outdoors with family and friends is what makes life worth living!
