Dudley And Frank Made A Run To Cabelas ...

yesterday evening after Frank got off work. Dudley got a ten dollar off coupon off the other day with no minimum purchase and it was burning a hole in his pocket. Dudley bought a new shooting stick which he needed because he left his old one in the guides truck last year on our Panhandle deer hunt. He also bought two snap caps for a .243 rifle so Dudley can teach his daughter how to dry fire a rifle and practice holding the gun steady. This is going to be the year Lizzie is going to kill her first deer! Dudley has made one heck of a deal to take the kids down to the Texas Hill Country on a deer hunt. We are going to be hunting outside of Kerrville which is the deer capital of Texas. Lizzie and Frank are both going to be able to harvest a mature management buck with six or seven points. They both also are going to harvest an exotic doe of some type. We are really excited and are looking forward to the hunt. Dudley will give more details after all of the plans are finalized.

Comments:
Sounds like a good time.

It was fun but we did not stay long, Frank wanted to get back home and watch the C.M.A. and I wanted to watch the basketball game.

Heh! Must have been "Visit Cabela's Week" or something. The wife and I went on Thursday.

We got to talking about how the Cabela's in PA is a real tourist attraction what with the firearms museum, the white tail mounts, the aquarium, the African plains display, and, of course, the central wildlife display with grizzlies, moose, mountain goats and sheep.

I've seen buses of tourists fresh from the Amish lands of southern PA pull in and unload for an hour of walking around and picture taking. Since many of them are from Japan, it's difficult to tell what impresses them most, the animals or the firearms.

Cabelas is my favorite outdoors store to go look around. I don't always buy from them but they have some great stuff in there.
