Dudleys Son Got Back From His Visit ...
to East Texas with his grandparents. He was pretty bummed out because he shot a small six point buck Saturday morning and despite making a good lung shot on the deer was unable to recover the animal. He and his grandfather waited about ten or fifteen minutes before taking up the trail. The buck was about seventy five yards away and the buck was broadside when he shot. After walking up to the spot the deer was standing, Frank heard a noise back in the woods and looked up and saw a white tail bounding off. They found where the deer had bedded down and a good deal of sign showing the deer had been hit hard in the lungs. They searched for a total of six hours Saturday and again Sunday morning and can find no sign of the buck. How he was able to run any distance at all is hard to believe. Maybe the bullet did not expand properly for some reason, I don't know. Frank and His grandfather and I have taken a lot of deer over the years and this is the first time we can ever remember hitting a deer and not making a recovery. This feels even worse than missing a shot at a monster buck. Dudley missed the largest buck he ever saw and shot at and let me tell you it is not a good feeling.

East Texas Bar Sues Church, Got It From Bennie ...
In a small Texas town (Mt. Vernon), Drummond's Bar began construction on a new building to increase their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign to block the bar from opening with petitions and prayers. Work progressed right up till the week before opening when lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground.
The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, until the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to the court.
As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, 'I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not.'

It Looks Like Dudley Is Going To Get To Go Deer Hunting ...
next month up in the Texas Panhandle. If everything works out, Dudleys son is going to drive him up to the Shamrock Texas area where he will be hunting on a large ranch. He is going to be hunting with a local outfitter who is going to take Dudley and another disabled hunter who also has Muscular Dystrophy out on a hunt for does and or cull bucks. Dudley is excited as he has never been deer hunting in this area of the state . Dudley is looking forward also to going to Shamrock which sits on historic Route 66. Dudley wants to see the famous Conoco station and some of the other sights on the old "Mother Road." Hopefully Dudley will be able to bag one or two deer and put some venison in the freezer. It sure would be great to go hunting again in God's great outdoors. I hope everything works out as planned. Dudley and son better pack their long handle underwear. It can get downright cold in that part of Texas in December. It is beautiful wide open prairie country. There are a lot of deer, coyotes, jack rabbits and prairie dogs up that way. When Dudley was about seven years old, his father took him on a trip to the Borger/Pampa area for a few days on a business trip. Dudley had one of those little fiberglass bow and arrows and ran all over that country shooting at prairie dogs and jack rabbits. Dudley hit a few of them too but the bow was such a low draw weight, the arrow would just hit the critter and bounce off and they would jump down the hole or bound away unhurt. Hopefully the deer on this trip will not be quite so lucky. Dudleys .243 packs a pretty good punch out to 300 yards. Those deer and other critters better watch out. Dudley and son have been out to the shooting range and we are ready!

They Had Some Excitement Yesterday In A Small Town In East Texas ...
Yesterday afternoon, a concerned citizen saw two people who had broken into his neighbors house. He followed the Cadillac the perpetrators were driving and called 911 on his cell phone. He followed them into town where a local police officer and a constable from a neighboring county joined in the chase. They chased the perps through town on the main highway and the bad guys ran off off the road and hit a tree. They jumped out of the car as did the police. The city police officer caught one of the bad guys and the fight was on. The bad guy was able to get the officers gun away from him and hit him with it in the head several times. The back up officer fired multiple rounds at the bad guy after he was warned and refused to drop the gun and give it up. He fell dead in the street. The other bad guy ran off and was apprehended a short distance away by a sheriffs deputy. A second round of shots may have been fired but no one else was hit and the second bad guy was arrested without further incident. The officer was care flighted to a local hospital. Dudley hopes he is going to recover fully. This happened on the street that Dudleys in laws live on about a block or two from their house. They don't normally have running gun battles in the street, it is normally a quiet little town. That sounds a lot more like the Metro area that Dudley resides in.

Dudleys pick for President is Ted Nugent. He is a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment and he is just off center enough to scare the shit out of our enemies. Hank Williams Jr. for V.P. another strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. Chuck Norris for Secretary of Defense and last but not least, Sarah Palin for Secretary of the Treasury. They no doubt could do a lot better job than that bunch of Bozos that were just elected.

deer hunting trip to East Texas. He did not get a deer this trip but had a good time visiting with his grandparents and hunting with his grandpapa. He hunted Friday evening but did not see anything. Saturday morning found Frank back in the deer stand. About 8:15 AM, Frank saw a deer walking out of a gully towards the stand about 100 yards away. He grabbed his binoculars and saw the deer was a good buck. He grabbed his rifle and looked through the scope just as the bucks rear end was disappearing into the woods. Damn, close does not count in deer hunting it only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes. A short while later two does walked out into the open where the buck had been for a short time earlier. Of course the does staying out in the open a good long while not surprising as they are off limits. Saturday evening found Frank back in the stand, he had a doe walk out about ten yards away but no bucks were seen. Sunday morning, Franks grandfather was looking down one direction of the right of way and Frank was looking the other. His grandfather tapped him on the shoulder and said "deer" but by the time Frank grabbed his gun and got in position the deer was out of sight. Frank did not get a buck this trip but he is encouraged to be seeing some deer. He will be going back and hunting during the Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Hopefully he will get a buck and some venison for the freezer.
