Dudley And Family And Friends Had A Great Time ...

last night at the Ranger game in spite of the Rangers getting beat 7 to 4 by the Angels. Thanks to Big Sis, we got to enjoy the game from behind home plate from the Whitey Ford Suite from The Ballpark in Arlington. The Rangers have been on a losing streak and continued to make a bunch of errors last night for some reason. We had a good time, I think the most fun was had by Dudleys teen aged daughter Lizzie and her best friend Melissa. They enjoyed themselves like only a couple of teen aged girls can do. If you have a teen aged daughter, you know what I mean. We usually get to use the suite once a year thanks to the generous owner. It is nice to experience watching the game in style. We were not able to park in the usual parking lot right across from the home plate entrance as it is closed down due to construction equipment parked there for the new Dallas Cowboys stadium which is being built just to the south and west of the ball park. The days of Dudley making long hikes from remote parking lots to sporting events are over so he got dropped off and picked up at the gate. I guess being disabled does have its privileges. Dudley sat outside on the balcony and watched the game through the sixth inning and then went inside because it was just too cold out side last night. It is hard for Dudley to stay warm these days due to loss of muscle from Muscular Dystrophy. It is hard to believe Dudley used to enjoy climbing up in a deer stand and hunting in 15 degree weather at one time. But that was a long time ago. On the way to the ball game, we went by the hospital to check on Dudleys mother. She is recovering from knee surgery to both knees. She is doing well and insisted we go to the game. She is going to have a tough road ahead with the physical therapy but hopefully when she is finished she will have full function and will be pain free. The good news following the surgery was the doctor did not have to do a full knee replacement, just both knee caps. That should shorten the recovery time considerably. Dudley was tired after a busy day yesterday, he slept until eleven, I very seldom sleep that late.
