In The Corporate World Or Politics, There Is Always A Hidden Agenda

Comments:
It sounds crass, but a cheaper gas price is at least a tangible cause, unlike "freedom" or "liberty". I know, I don't think we should be fighting for that ether. I thought we were fighting to liberate people. Isn't that what we always tell ourself? There's a built in conflict whenever a democracy tries to be a great power. Great powers have to fight wars to maintain their power and undermine theor enemies, but democracies are only suppoed to fight in self defence, or to free others. Things get a bit mixed up in the soup.

If cheaper gas prices were the goal of the Iraq war, it does not look to me like the mission was accomplished.
