Lone Star Brewery In San Antonio Texas ...

Dudley and Wife took Frank there when he was little to see the Buckhorn Saloons Hall of Horns collection. Saw the 78 point former World Record Whitetail called the Brady Buck. It was killed in 1892 on the Ford Ranch. Dudley hunted there in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1994 .  It was housed in the brewery along with a collection. Of fish mounts and oddities. Some great TX history. Also had a lot of memorabilia of the life and career of AD and Plinky Topperwein. They were a married couple of Sharpshooters and Trick Shooters that toured the Country for decades back in the day. They promoted Winchester firearms and ammunition. Dudleys father in law that was born in Kickapoo, TX in 1927 saw them put on a shooting demonstration when he was a kid in East TX. After the tour of many exhibits we ended up at a beautiful wooden antique Bar and got wooden tokens good for a free Lone Star Beer at the Bat! Frank got a soft drink. It was a great day. Years later the Lone Star brewery closed. The collection was sold and in a museum in downtown San Antonio. We went there years later and Frank and Lizzie both got to go. Had a great time. Lone Star Beer has always supported Wildlife Conservation and Hunting and Fishing in the great State of Texas!
