it is a top fill feeder. Going to be a lot less messy to fill this one up. The old one I had was a bottom fill model and it would leak. It will be interesting to see how long it will take for a hummingbird to find it. The last time I had one up the ants found it. I got an ant trap and filled it with water, I don't think they will be able to get around that.
We have two feeders on our porch and sit on our glider and watch them go at it. They are amazing birds! I know they will find it sooner or later! :)
