Roy Frank Herrington, An American War Hero ...

On July 7, 1937, Dudley's wife's  Great Grandfather, Frank Abner Herrington and his 16 year old son Roy Frank Herrington put in a well on their farm in Anderson County near Brushy Creek. They put their initials in the wet concrete. After some recent brush clearing, the well was rediscovered. Like so many young men, Roy Frank went off to fight in WWII. Sadly, he was killed near the end of the war. He is buried in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
