There Have Been Times In Dudleys Life ...

when he should have spoken up and didn't and other times when he did speak out but instead, should have taken a dose of this medicine!

Great Old Photo Of The T&P Depot In Weatherford TX ...

back in 1890. Look at the Horses and Buggies and Wagons and a real Old West Stage Coach. Fantastic image! I used to go by this depot on the way to ride dirt bikes at the Flying P Ranch. It was being used as a Feed Store by that time.

Photos Of Jimmie Rodgers, The Father Of Country Music ...

with his brand new Ford Model A he bought from the Cone Car Company in Kerrville, Tx. Also found a picture of his house in Kerrville. He moved there after he got TB as the local climate was thought to be therapeutic. He was known as the "Singing Brakeman" from his Railroad days. He was very popular in the 1920's and during the Great Depression. He died at a young age in 1933 after recording his last four songs. He wrote and sang T For Texas and many other great songs. Dudleys favorite is Yodel #8 Mule Skinner Blues. He could Yodel with the best of them. He was one of the first 3 singers inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Another Great Photo Of Benbrook TX ...

taken around 1918.

Frank And Jeff Worked On Building A New Deer Stand Yesterday...

Going to finish building it in East TX and set it up down at the farm.

Great Photo Taken Near The Dudley Domicile ...

during WWI from an Airplane. A Cadet in the Royal Air Corps by the name of Christopher Paulus Devos took the photo from a Biplane looking down on the Texas Pacific Tracks and the Benbrook Depot. You can see two trains on paralell tracks with steam billowing out of the Steam Engines. Really is an amazing photo. I always wondered where the Depot was. After looking at a current map I know exactly where this was!

Nachos For Dinner Here At The Dudley Domicile ...

Dudley Got A Box Of Mark Twain Cigars Today ...

Reminds Dudley of the time he and his wife went to Bass Hall and spent the evening with Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight. It was like going back in time over 100 years! An amazing performance. I wish Mark Twain and Will Rogers were still around to comment on the current State of the Union and World Affairs. It would be quite entertaining!

Got A New Hardbound Cabelas Limited Edition Fall Catalog In The Mail Today ...

Dudley Bought A NOS Diawa USA Made Fly Rod ...

for his collection. It is an 8 foot two piece fiberglass  model 1345 A.  Dudley has one of these that he bought new when he was in college to replace his old worn out Martin fly rod he had gotten years earlier at the S&H Green Stamp Store. Bought the original Daiwa at Gibsons Discount Center in Nacogdoches. Don't remember what it cost back then. Got the latest one for $26.26. Frank and I caught a lot of fish on the old one in both fresh and salt water.

Frank Was Working Today Down In Centerville TX ...

and went to Woody's Smokehouse for lunch. He sent Dudley a picture of his Bacon Wrapped Quail, sure does look good. Dudley used to work down that way over 30 years ago.

They Can Take The Flag Down But Those That Forget History Are Likely To Repeat It ...

OUR-CONFEDERATE-DEAD

Save that for them we nobly live,
Bear life as death they bravely bore.
They need no glory we can give.
   Whose fame abides forevermore.

Frank And Chace Went Fly Fishing Today ...

up in Palo Pinto County on the Brazos River. They drove up Hwy 16, the "Sportsman's Highway" and launched their kayaks at the historic Stone Bridge. They paddled down and fished down around Schoolhouse Mountain. They had a great time. Frank caught 5 Bass on his South Fork Classic 4 Wt Flyrod on a white Clouser Fly. It was the maiden voyage for Chaces brand new Native kayak.
