Texas Is Going To Make It Legal For CHL Holders ...

to "Open Carry" a hand gun in places where it is legal to carry concealed. Dudley has no intention to carry a gun on his hip out in public. Dudley often carried his S&W Distinguished Combat Magnum back in the day when he was out hunting on his Uncles Ranch in Palo Pinto County. Or he carried his Beretta 92F down at the farm in East TX,  Dudley thinks it is better to carry concealed so as to not draw attention and keep the bad guys guessing. Of course over 50 years ago, Dudley routinely carried a pair of pearl handled six shooters out for all the world to see while he was riding the range, but that was a different time and a much different place.

The Backyard At The Dudley Domicile Looks Like A Lake ...

it has been raining nearly every day for the last week. There is a concrete base for the fence and it is holding the water like a tank dam. Thinking about calling the Fish Hatchery and ordering some Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish and Coppernose Bluegill! Dudley always wanted a Lakefront house :)

Dudley And Wife Went To The Burger Bar ...

yesterday in beautiful downtown Cleburn, TX. The small brick building was once the office for a Livery Stable/Wagon Yard in the days before automobiles. The Burger Joint has been in operation since 1949, ten years older than Dudley. Dudley ate a Bacon Cheesburger and Fries and drank a cold Dr Pepper.

Went To The Rifle Range This Evening With Frank ...

Watched him sight in his new .270 Deer Rifle. First four shots at 100 yards were in the Bullseye! He only needed to make a minor adjustment to his Leupold VX6. Our Gunsmith did a good job mounting and bore sighting the scope. Jeff met us out there and he checked the zero on his 30-06 and also sighted in a new Aimpoint Red Dot Scope on his Colt AR-15. It was an enjoyable day at the range watching the young guys shoot. Dudley has an idea one or two Hogs may hit the ground this weekend!

Frank Checked His Deer Cam Today At The Farm ...

and saw that some Hogs have been showing up the last few days. Frank is going to grill some Fajitas for dinner and then he and Jeff are going to take their bows and sit in a blind on top of a Tank Dam and hope one or both of them can get a shot. The Hog in the picture may be a big Ol Boar!

Update, they went down with their Matthews Bows and Frank had a Taurus 5 shot revolver and Jeff carried his Glock for backup. They saw two big Hogs right before dark but they never got any closer than 50 yards. Too far for the Bows. They are going to go back with their rifles next weekend and try to put a Hog or two on the ground!
