Frank And Jeff Are At The Colonial Golf Tournament ...

again today for the final day of play. They have been out there all day Friday, Saturday and today. Frank scored two club house passes Friday from Dudley's aunt. Jeff works at a local golf course and he got passes for yesterday and today. Yesterday afternoon, Frank and Jeff got invited to a private party up on the second story veranda overlooking the 18th green. He said they got to watch all of the golfers finish for the day and got to eat free Mexican food and drank a free beer. Dudley has the tournament on t.v. and just heard some thunder outside and noticed it was raining a few minutes ago . Hopefully they will be able to finish the tournament. Dudley watched the Indy 500 today and will watch the Rangers play baseball tonight. Typical weekend around the Dudley domicile. Dudley and Frank got out yesterday and bought a new lawn mower. Good thing as the grass needs mowing again.

Frank And Jeff Had A Great Trip To The Hill Country ...

of Texas. They left early Friday morning and got back late Sunday afternoon. Friday when they got to Kerrville, they went by and picked up the European mounts of their Whitetail Bucks they got last December on the WRS Ranch. After that they went and ate lunch and checked into the State Park and got the keys to their cabin. That afternoon, they went down to Bandera and fished for about three hours on the Medina river out of their kayaks. Frank caught a bunch of sunfish on Dudley's flyrod and reel. They met up with one of Frank's fraternity buddies after that at the Dude Ranch his family runs outside of town. They went swimming in their private swimming hole on the Medina. Frank said they climbed up about twenty feet into a large Bald Cypress tree and out onto a limb that hangs over a deep spot in the river. They took turns jumping into the river. Frank said it was fun but a little scary. Reminds Dudley of the times he jumped off of a suspension bridge into a river in Northeastern Oklahoma back in his younger days. That night Frank said they all went to the Longhorn Saloon in Bandera. It is owned and run by the brother of singer Clint Black. Frank said they listened to live country music, shot pool and drank a few cold beers. They got up early the next morning and called the owner of the ranch where we hunted and got directions to his home on a private stretch of the Guadalupe River. Frank and Jeff fished all day out of their kayaks in some of the fishiest water Dudley has seen in a while. The fishing was kind of slow but they each caught several bass and quite a few sunfish. Jeff caught the biggest bass about three pounds. They had a great time. The next morning on the way home, they stopped and walked down to the Llano River and fished and each caught a bass. They ate some Texas BBQ and then headed home tired but with a lot of great memories of fishing three different Texas Hill Country Rivers in three days!

Frank And Jeff Are Down In The Texas Hill Country ...

for three days of kayaking and fishing on the beautiful Medina and Guadalupe rivers. They rented an air conditioned cabin on the river in Kerrville. They are going to fish out of their kayaks this afternoon and evening down near Bandera. Tonight they are going to fish for catfish on the Guadalupe. Early tomorrow morning they are going to go fish a private stretch on the Guadalupe behind the home of the man whose ranch we went hunting on last December. Dudley exchanged emails with a fly fishing guide in the area and got some tips on the types of flies that have been working of late. Dudley loaned his prized fly rod and reel to Frank for this trip. Dudley put a sink tip fly line on the graphite fly reel yesterday and Frank is going to do some fly fishing. He and Jeff have a chance to catch three new species of fish shown above. From top to bottom, they are Guadalupe Bass and Smallmouth Bass and a Rio Grande Cichlid. It would be great if they could add some new species to their catch list. At any rate, they are going to eat some great food, see some beautiful scenery and have a great time kayaking and fishing in the Texas Hill Country. On the way home on Sunday, they are going to possibly fish a third river. Not sure yet which one, could be the Llano, San Saba or possibly another. Frank and Jeff picked up their European mounts of the Whitetail Bucks they got last December and will be bringing them home. Hopefully Frank will take a lot of pictures. Maybe they will catch some fish as well.

California Is Proposing A Boycott Of Arizona ...

for their attempts to get a handle on Illegal Immigration. Dudley heard on Fox News this morning that Arizona is threatening to cut off electricity to California. That is a great response and I hope they follow through and the liberals get to live in the dark. It should be a smooth transition as the California liberals live with their collective heads up their ass and are always "in the dark." While they are at it, Arizona should also consider cutting off the water supply to California. That might get their attention. When will people ever learn that there is no free lunch.

Extraordinary Measures Is An Amazing True Story ...

Frank Was Mowing The Yard This Weekend ...

and was just about through with the front yard when our push mower started to fall apart. Frank took it in to the repair shop Monday morning and they said it had thrown a crankshaft. Not worth repairing so Dudley and wife are going to have to come up with the money to buy a new mower. We had the old mower for several years and it was used when we got it so I guess it was time. Dudley will have to get Frank to go with him to shop for a new mower. Dudley ought to buy an old fashioned manual powered reel mower. That way there would be no worry of a blown motor. Of course Frank would probably go on strike if that were to happen, so might better get another Briggs and Stratton powered mower. We got some more rain yesterday and the grass is not going to quit growing anytime soon.

Dudley Went To The Doctor's Office Today ...

for a blood draw and as we speak, a vial of Dudley's blood is on ice and on the way to Duke University Medical Center for genetic testing. This is to determine if Dudley may be suffering from Pompe Disease. It sounds strange to say it but Dudley hopes he has this disease since it is the only type of muscular dystrophy for which there is currently a treatment. Dudley is a big wimp and has always been a little squeamish when giving blood. Dudley skipped lunch today which was probably not a good idea. After the nurse was through with drawing the blood Dudley passed flat out in the chair. He came to with the nurse and a doctor hovering over him checking his vitals. Dudley got to sit for a while and a little bit later Dudley's neurologist stuck his head in the door to check on him. A little while later Dudley was given the OK to leave and Dudley drove home without any problem. Dudley is anxious to find out the test results, hopefully it will not take a long time.

Dudley Is Going To Have To Get One Of These ...

Marx Reissue Service Stations. He can add this to his collection of Reissued Hot Wheels Classic Sets and 40th Anniversiary GI Joes. When Dudley was a little boy, he had a Marx Service Station and Car Wash that was really cool. Dudley played with that thing for years with his Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. Dudley's father spent several hours one Christmas eve putting it together. He probably invented a few new curse words in the process. It was worth the effort as it brought a lot of great childhood memories. Dudley remembers staying up into the early morning hours one Christmas putting together a Pow'r Wheels Jeep Jr. for Frank when he was around three years old. Dudley's dad was probably looking down laughing as he probably invented some curse words of his own. If Dudley ever was to have a grandson, it is a good bet that he is going to get some really cool stuff to play with as he grows up.

Got Lizzies Senior Pictures Today ...

she is a pretty girl and Dudley is so proud of her for graduating high school. She just had the photos made this morning, the miracle of digital photography. Back in Dudley's day you had to wait for the proofs and then wait again for the photos to be printed. Dudley's big sister used to manage an office for a professional film developing lab but got out of that business not long before the digital photography revolution. We are looking forward to Lizzie's graduation ceremony and after that who knows?

This Is A Picture Of The Tree Limb That Crashed Into ...

our roof a while back. It happened about 11 PM and it sounded like a bomb went off when it hit the roof. It had fallen out of the top of a tree and punched a hand sized hole clear through the composition roofing, felt and plywood decking. Had a roofer come out repair the hole and he tore out and replaced one square of shingles and felt. It appears to have finally stopped the old and the new leak. Sure hope so anyway as having a roof leak is a real worry especially when you have hardwood floors like we do. Can't afford to have the tree trimmers out to trim the dead wood as they charge way too much. Just as well because I remember my next door neighbor paid almost one thousand bucks to have all of her trees trimmed. The very next windstorm and a huge tree fell onto the roof of her house causing quite a bit of damage. Will just have to take my chances and hope for the best.

Dudley Is Enjoying Watching The Texas Rangers ...

trying to sweep the Kansas City Royals. The game is currently in the fourth inning and it is tied at four. Frank cooked Sika burgers out on the grill last night. They sure were good, that is a photo above of the burgers on the grill and Jeff with the Sika doe he got with Dudley and Frank down in the Texas Hill Country last December. Jeff made one heck of a running shot on the deer. Dudley is going to get back to watching the baseball game. Hope the Rangers can pull out a win. The Rangers are currently in first place and Dudley would like to see them stay there. Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out there.

Here Are Some Photos Of Two Of ...

Dudley's birthday presents. A pair of Fishgillz polarized sunglasses for when Frank and I go fishing down at the coast. Dudley got a real good deal on them online from Gander Mountain for a little less than forty dollars. Frank can afford Costa Del Mar or Maui Jim shades but Dudley will have to settle for these. Dudley also bought four bottles of RC Cola and four Moonpies. Dudley was inspired to try this after seeing the cool Mural his college roommate painted in Ben Wheeler. After finding his roommate on Facebook, Dudley was also inspired to learn his son, Jesse Hale is a member of an up and coming Christian Band which goes by the name Mikeschair. Dudley listens to Christian music in his truck and has heard this band many times on the radio but only recently learned of the connection. Dudley bought two tickets the other day and am looking forward to going with Lizzie to see them in concert with Sanctus Real and Jonny Diaz. Frank is going to cook Sika burgers out on the grill again this evening. Jeff is going to come over and eat with us since he is the one that shot the Sika on our hunting trip last December. A Sika is a member of the Elk family and they make for a fine grilled burger. Dudley is getting hungry just thinking about it.

Dudley Got His New CHL Today ...

the day after the old one expired. The new one looks different from the old one. The new one is good for five years. There is so much crime around these days that Dudley does not leave the house without his XD9 subcompact. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. And as they say, it is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

Dudley is 51 Years Old Today , Hard To Believe ...

that much time has passed since that Wednesday afternoon Dudley was born in a hospital in Wichita Falls. When Dudley was born, the doctors did not give very good odds for survival having been born way early with a low birth weight for 1959. After a long stretch in an incubator, Dudley survived and thrived. It has been a wild ride with a lot of highs and lows. Dudley knows he is on the downhill side of life and is going to keep fighting for all he is worth. Now Dudley is going to get off this laptop and get on a more secure computer and buy himself a couple of Birthday Presents!

Dudley Went To See His Neurologist Today ...

for a follow up appointment. He is making progress for Dudley to have a test done to see if he has Pompe disease. Hopefully this will get done in the next few weeks. Dudley will be giving a blood sample which will be sent overnight to Duke University Medical School to conduct the DNA and other tests. Hopefully Dudley has this disease because it is the only form of Muscular Dystrophy for which there is a treatment. The IV drugs are very expensive around $300,000.00 per year. My neurologist said he has one other patient with a confirmed case of Pompe disease, he is the same age as Dudley and he is receiving the treatment. The doctor said it took him over one year to get the Insurance Company to approve this. This doctor also has a law degree and if anyone can get this approved I am sure he can. The doctor has told Dudley that if he is confirmed to have Pompe disease, the drug will stop the progression in it's tracks. Dudley knows it is a long shot but hopefully this is the disease Dudley has been dealing with all of these years. If so, maybe Dudley can get the treatment and hopefully stop this disease from getting any worse.

This Is A Link To A Recent Newspaper Article ...

in the paper down in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is an amazing story about two kayak fishermen who were going out to catch some redfish and were pinned down by rifle fire until their rescue by a local game warden. It is an amazing read. Frank and his buddy Jeff go fishing down in that area once or twice a year. Frank needs too hurry up and get a pistol and his CHL. There are too many bad people out there these days. You can read the article by clicking here. I hope they catch those four guys and put them behind bars for a long time.

Good Crawfish Eatin Music Zydeco Alligator Crawl ...

Frank And Two Of His Friends Took Off This Morning ...

Photobucket

for a Road Trip to East Texas. They are on the way back now with twenty pounds of live crawfish. They went and bought them from the crawfish farm Dudley used to go to. It is down in the Neches River bottom on Caddo Creek. When they get back into town, they are going to stop at the grocery store and buy some onions, lemons, corn on the cob and crab boil to throw in with the crawfish. You fill a large pot up with water, put a basket in and then put in all of the spices and veggies and light the fire and bring the water to a full boil. Then you drop the crawfish in alive and boil them for eleven minutes. Then you lift out the basket full of crawfish and veggies and dump them onto a table covered with newspaper. Then you turn up the Zydeco music, grab a cold beer and start peeling and eating the piping hot tails and wash them down with the cold beer. Man it does not get much better than that!
