Things Are Getting Back To Normal Here At The Dudley Domicile ...

Dudleys daughter made it back to school today and Dudley went to the doctor. The wait was not too bad, I got out of there in less than an hour which is pretty good, probably closer to 45 minutes. Dudley saw the Physician's Assistant he usually sees and has developed a good rapport with. Usually I tell him what is wrong with me and what drugs I need and he gives them to me. How is that for a doctor patient relationship. While I was there, I got three count em three shots. A cortisone shot in the hip and a flu shot in my left arm and a pneumonia shot in my right arm. I got a free sample of nasal spray and a prescription for a strong antibiotic. The shot and the nose spray seemed to help pretty quickly. I am breathing through my nose pretty good tonight. I may actually be able to stay hooked up to my Bipap machine and oxygen concentrator and get a little sleep. The last couple of nights has been pretty rough. Hopefully I will start to feel good enough in a few days to go and vote early. I am going to go watch the rest of the Mavericks game and try to get some sleep for a change.

Dudley And Daughter Are Both Sick ...

and have not been feeling well at all. Dudleys daughter started feeling bad Sunday and has come down with one of those 24 hour stomach viruses. Dudley has a terrible sinus infection. Dudleys daughter will bounce back and be on her feet pretty quick. Dudley won't be that lucky, he has an appointment tomorrow afternoon with the doctor. Some heavy duty drugs are called for this time around. I think the Ragweed has been blooming and Dudleys allergies have been working overtime. We probably will not get a heavy frost for at least three or four weeks and that is what it will take to kill the Ragweed. This happens every year, damn it is not easy when you get all stopped up and have a hard enough time breathing any way. When Dudley gets all congested he can't breath through his nasal mask which is needed to use his Bipap machine. Dudley requested a full face mask to use when he can not breath through his nose but the one they sent would not work. Hopefully I will get some good medication tomorrow at the doctors office and I will feel better in a few days. Hopefully Dudleys daughter will get a good nights sleep tonight and feel like going to school tomorrow. She has not been this sick in a long time. Dudley hopes his little girl gets to feeling better real soon.

Dudley Is Preparing For The Worst And Hoping For The Best ...

Dudley picked up his new Remington 870 tactical 12 gauge pump shotgun the other day. It came factory equipped with a Knoxx Specops Folder recoil reducing pistol grip stock. The gun has an 18 inch barrel and has a capacity of (6+1) 2 3/4 or 3 inch magnum shells. Dudley is going to add a set of TRAK-LOCK® II Ghost Ring Sights in the near future. Of course all of the female members of Dudleys family think he is paranoid but Dudley likes to think in terms of being prepared. In the last two months, two occupied homes were invaded by armed intruders in the metro plex area. In both cases, the unarmed occupants, (husband and wife) fought back, overpowered and killed a total of two armed intruders. A third armed intruder was wounded but survived. Dudley lives in a nice established older neighborhood of single family homes but like everywhere these days, you don't have to go far to find a crime ridden neighborhood. Dudley is a big guy, 6' 2" and weighs about 245 lbs but given the fact Dudley has muscular dystrophy, Dudley does not like his odds in an unarmed physical confrontation. Dudley feels the economy is going to continue to take a nose dive and the incidents of home invasions will continue to increase if things get worse. Call me paranoid if you want but remember when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

You Know You Are Too Old Too Trick Or Treat When ...

10. You get winded from knocking on the door.

9. You have to have a kid chew the candy for you.

8. You ask for high fiber candy only.

7. When someone drops a candy bar in your bag, you lose your balance and fall over.

6. People say: "Great Boris Karloff Mask," and you're not wearing a mask.

5. When the door opens you yell, "Trick or ." and can't remember the rest.

4. By the end of the night, you have a bag full of restraining orders.

3. You have to carefully choose a costume that won't dislodge your hairpiece.

2. You're the only Power Ranger in the neighborhood with a walker.

And the number one reason Seniors should not go Trick Or Treating ...

1. You keep having to go home to use the bathroom

Dudley Ordered A New Knife Yesterday ...

because he has been looking for his CRKT assisted opener for over a year and has been unable to find it. Dudley figured it must have fallen out of his pocket or he used it and left it God knows where. Dudley showed his son the knife he ordered online and he thought it looked pretty sweet. Said he may have to get him one. It is an assisted opener as well but this knife opens straight out like a stiletto. This knife also has a steel punch on the end of the handle for when you or some other dumbass drives off into the lake and you need to break out the window glass. Dudley is surprised this knife is legal but it is made by Schrade so I am sure it must be. Schrade makes good knives, Dudley used a Schrade 152OT for years back when he was still able to deer hunt and able to field dress a deer on his own. Today my son was digging around in a box on the floor of his room and guess what he found. You guessed it, he found my lost knife. Dudley can carry the old one until his new knife gets here. It may take a while as Dudley got an email this morning advising it was on back order. If you want to see a video of the new knife in action, click here.

Dudleys Progeny At A Birthday Party This Weekend ...

held at a swanky downtown high rise, high dollar retirement center. Dudley stayed home and watched the Red River Shootout and was surprised to see Texas beat Oklahoma. Too bad the Cowboys did not play as well yesterday as the Longhorns. Dudleys daughter was quite entertained at the party. The party room had a nice view out the plate glass windows of the Trinity River and the old water treatment plant. Lizzie was quite fascinated with the view and sent Dudley a text saying she could see the poop floating on the top of the holding ponds and was quite entertained watching the workers walking around the water treatment plant monitoring the Poopy/Water separation process. Dudley sent her a text and told her perhaps she should apply for a job over there since she found it so interesting. I am sure downtown real estate is at a premium but why would you build a high rise retirement home next to the sewage treatment facility. The apartments on one half of the building have a wonderful view of the downtown skyline, the other side has a lovely view of the water treatment plant.

Dudley And Son Went To The Gun Range Today ...

to shoot Dudleys deer rifle. Dudley may not get the opportunity to go deer hunting this year but he wants to be ready just in case. Frank shot a box of ammo and had a good time. If you want to see a bunch of rednecks and pickup trucks, go to any gun range in Texas this time of year. Rifle deer season opens on November 1st and everyone was out checking the zero on their rifle. Hunters owe it to their quarry to make sure the gun is sighted in and should always strive to make a one shot kill. It was kind of strange going to this range. Dudley had been there only once before some thirty or so years ago. Dudley was in college and had come home for Christmas. Dudley received the gun we were shooting as a present, a Remington model 700 BDL .243 rifle. The gun was a hand me down from Dudleys step father but was like brand new. It probable had not had a box of shells shot through it when Dudley got it for Christmas. Anyway Dudley and some of his friends took it out to the range and the gun had iron sights and Dudley could not hit the target consistently at 100 yards. Dudley quickly started saving up his money for a scope after that outing. I remember one of my friends took his fathers M1 Carbine out to the range that day and we all took turns shooting it as well. One of Franks friends just purchased a Ruger Mini-14 NRA edition rifle and he was supposed to meet us out there but he got held up and did not make it out. Frank and I had some quality father and son time together and we are getting ready to enjoy watching the Cowboy game in a little while. The girls went to a wedding so we should be able to watch the game without any distractions.
